Tuesday Treasures #6 // Furniture

Since we'll be moving soon (just across town), I've had furniture on the mind! We still need a table for our white chairs and a couch! Anyway, I'm just daydreaming of owning these items:

I could totally go for this Emu Retrouve High Back Chair by Coalesse. Which color scheme would you go with? (Assuming we all have $1099 for this baby).

Loving this USA coffee table from Urban Outfitters!

Yes, please. From Anthropologie.

And a pretty sofa from Urban Outfitters as well. I tried to include more brands, but they just have super cute things!

I will leave you with this parting image:
Sweet dreams!

Giveaway Winners!

Both of my recent giveaway winners were nice enough to make a really great post about what they won!

Kelly from Bax Cat and Co won the owl print giveaway from Heather Pritchett Illustration!

And Ashley from Love Love Love won the camera necklace from That Lil Prop Shop!

Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaways and liked these talented ladies' facebook pages. I love doing giveaways and am working on setting up more! Also, if anyone is interested in doing a giveaway with me, leave a comment with your email address.

No photosets to share, but here are a few shots from my week:
Our favorite critter, Sirius Black. We hope/think he has a home, but unsure of who owns this friendly guy.
Italy? Croatia? No, just Grand Rapids. Our friend has a great deck at her building downtown and we joined her for dinner and drinks. So very nice!
Another friend had her birthday party on the roof of her building.
Beautiful view of Grand Rapids!
(It was a sequins and bowtie party). I should have photobooth pictures to share soon!

Last week was SO busy. I think the momentum will continue through until we move in two weeks. This coming weekend the lady with the giant necktie in the above picture will be moving back to California and my birthday is the day after, so we'll be saying goodbyes/celebrating. Hopefully time can move a little more slowly. Have a great week!

Did you watch our Commander in Chief?

Below is President Obama's speech from the Democratic National Convention last night in case you missed it. I just watched it and definitely got teary - and smiley!

I think he is such a great man and president. How could you vote for anyone else?

"America, I never said this journey would be easy, and I won't promise that now. Yes, our path is harder, but it leads to a better place. Yes, our road is longer, but we travel it together. We won't turn back. We leave no one behind. We pull each other up. We draw strength from our victories and we learn from our mistakes, but we keep our eyes fixed on that distant horizon, knowing that Providence is with us, and that we are surely blessed to be citizens of the greatest nation on earth."

Tigers Game in the D

Happy first day back to school or back to work after the long weekend! Yesterday I attended the Tigers vs Cleveland game in Detroit with Andrew's family and our friend Gaby! I only have pictures of Andrew, Gaby, and me however. Anyway, we lost the game 3-2 and there were no home runs or anything, ugh! At least we had great weather and got to hang out in Detroit. Have I mentioned how much I love Detroit? I still think it's a great city.

We took an A/C break in the gift shop. $60?!?!? I took a free picture to remember it by because that is outrageous.
Beating out the slow moving little girl to get my piggy bank picture. Move it or lose it!
 Cha-ching!
Andrew didn't like my piggy nose.
Only group shot and Andrew has to blink!
That's a pretty neat Lady Liberty!
Rawr!

The Tigers juuuuust lost the second game in this series. I don't know why because Cleveland totally sucks! Come on Tigs!
Who do you root for? I wish I had gotten to see a few more Tigers games this year. Although I like fall, I really hate football, so I'm bummed that baseball is (kind of) almost over this year. Keep it going and make the playoffs, Detroit!

Goodnight friends!

Romeo Peach Festival

Yesterday I went to the peach festival in Romeo, Michigan with my parents. There's not much to say, so I'll leave it to the pictures!

We walked around the carnival but didn't ride anything. This ride was 4 coupons which equalled $5! Rip-off central.
I wonder how long ago these things were built! I liked how vintage they looked.
I wonder what the inside of this one is like...
Since my birthday is in a couple of weeks, and I won't see my parents that day, they treated me to a piece of deep fried peach cheesecake.
It was pretty delicious, although it's strange to have warm cheesecake!
We took this photo for my grandma because she likes Woody from Toy Story. Howdy!
Enjoying peach iced tea and peach lemonade during our snack pitstop.
We stopped at a farmer's market on our way out of town and I realized there had been no pictures of my mom, so we took a fall preview photo in front of the corn field!

Today I am going to the Tigers game with Andrew, his family, and our friend Gaby. I am excited! I haven't been in a couple summers. What have you done this long weekend? Happy Labor Day!

Blogging Tips

One of my friends shared this graphic with me. I actually don't do many of these, but I also don't have a newsletter nor do I want to send a link to my blog in emails. I should understand how RSS feeds work by now, but I really don't. Any tips on that one? Anyway, I think this is overall a really great graphic, especially for newer bloggers (like me) that have trouble getting a lot of readership. One thing I have tried that thus far has not helped me gain followers is leaving comments on other people's blogs, yet that is a tip I read everywhere. What tips do you have for gaining followers and getting hits?

Birthday Boy

It's a few days late, but happy birthday Andrew! My wonderful boyfriend is now 28! He's getting so old! Last Sunday I surprised him by bringing together some of our favorite people at one of our favorite places - during happy hour, of course!
Kathryn brought the treats - what a great friend!
Gaby, Ryan, Erika, Drew, Kathryn, me, and Andrew!

I haven't gotten him a gift yet; we have so many things on our wishlist that we are waiting until we move to decide what are the highest priorities. My goal was just to make his birthday really special, and I think he had a lovely time!

My birthday is coming up - two weeks from today. We'll see what he plans for me!

I'll leave you with a song I've had on repeat this week for whatever reason. Happy Saturday evening!
